Textured Art NZ | Gallery

This gallery features a selection of past textured artworks I’ve created through The Unbound Studio. Together, these pieces reflect my developing styles, shaped by experimenting with different materials and techniques.

A lot of these works are inspired by natural movement, complimentary colours, and finding a balance between simplicity and detail. I work quite intuitively, letting each piece evolve as I create it. Rather than following a specific plan, I allow the work to guide me, often leading to outcomes that are completely different from what I first imagined.

All of my artworks are created here in New Zealand, which also plays a big part in my inspiration. The natural environment around me continues to influence the way I work, especially in the way I think about colour and overall feeling.

The texture invites people to look a little closer and notice how the surface shifts depending on the light or angle. There’s a quietness to these pieces, but also a level of detail that reveals itself over time.

Something that’s important to me is how my work sits within a space. I’m not trying to create pieces that take over a room, but instead ones that feel like they belong there. The goal is for them to complement a space that’s already been thoughtfully curated, adding to the overall feel rather than changing it completely.
